Most-streamed Spotify musician for two years in a row.

Drake was named Spotify’s most-streamed music artist of 2015, with 1.8 billion streams that year. Drake topped the chart for the second year in a row, being Spotify’s most-streamed music artist of 2016 with 5.8 billion streams, more than half of which were for his fourth album “Views.”

“One Dance” ranks as The First Track to reach 1 billion Spotify streams and for 11 months was the Most Streamed Song on Spotify.

On 16th December 2016, “One Dance” crossed the 1 billion stream threshold on Spotify, remaining in history as the first song to achive this.  On 18th October 2016, Drake’s hit song “One Dance” broke a world record for the most-streamed song ever on Spotify after reaching over 882 million plays and surpassing Major Lazer’s “Lean On.”  “One Dance” which is first dancehall song of Drake as the leading singer, held the Spotify record for 11 months until it was surpassed by Ed Sheeran “Shape of You” in September 2017.

In 2016, Drake earned the record title for Most Streamed Album on Spotify.

Drake’s fourth studio album “Views” holds the world record title for the most streamed album on Spotify in 2016, being streamed 2.6 billion times that year. VIEWS broke this Spotify world record in only 8 months since its release. The album was released on 29th April 2016, and his’s most popular songs include “Hotline Bling,” “Too Good” featuring Rihanna, and “One Dance” (which broke another Spotify world record).

The release of Drake’s More Life – A Playlist, brought him four World Records titles:
  • Most simultaneous new entries in the Hot 100 by a solo act.
  • Most simultaneous tracks on US singles chart by a solo artist – On 8 April 2017, Drake set a breaking-record of 24 simultaneous US entries.
  • The most streams for tracks from one album in a week (USA).
  •  In April 2017, Drake also took the title for Most Hot 100 entries by a solo artist from Lil Wayne, when 21 of the 22 songs from More Life debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
As of July 2018, the rapper has registered a total of 186 songs on the Billboard Hot 100  chart.

Drake holds two BMAs records, for the Most Awarded Billboard Artist and the Most Billboard Wins in a one night.

On 21 May 2017 at Billboard Music Awards, Drake set a new record becoming the Biggest Single Year Winner Ever with 13 wins, bringing home Top Rap Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, plus many more.

  • The rapper surpassed the total of 12 awards that the British singer Adele earned back in 2012.
  • Currently, the record for most Billboard Music Awards won is held by Drake with 27, and on the second spot ranks Taylor Swift with 23 awards.

Drake’s album Scorpion broke two streaming world records in its first 24h on Spotify and Apple.

Scorpion was released on 29 June 2018, as a double album and its Drake’s longest record with a run-time just under 90 minutes. Drake’s fourth album broke both the 24h streaming world records on Spotify and Apple Music.
  • On its first day on Spotify, Scorpion amassed 132.45 million plays, more than 50 million listeners surpassing the previous 24h record holder Post Malone’s “Beerbongs & Bentleys,” with more than 50 million listeners.
  • That day Drake occupied 17 of the top 20 spots on Spotify’s Global Chart. His three most-streamed songs were “Emotionless” (7,690,019), “Survival” (8,611,591), and “Nonstop.” (9,298,297).
  • In the first week of its release, the Scorpion album amassed over 1 billion streams worldwide on Spotify.
When Spotify added the album on nearly 30 of the biggest playlists as part of its inaugural “global artist takeover” feature, the Scorpion album reached 10 million streams per hour.
  • On Apple Music, Drake broke his 24h record after, Scorpion pulled 170 million streams, two times more than his 2017 project More Life which held the Apple record with 89.9 million plays in its first 24h.
According to Apple, The Scorpion album holds the US and worldwide streaming records for the network, and the debut is the biggest one-day streaming total for any album on any network.

Most consecutive weeks on the US singles chart (multiple singles). 

Drake, the record-breaker ensured his spot in 2019’s edition of Guinness Book by setting a record for most consecutive weeks on the US singles chart (multiple singles) — with a total of 431 weeks — in eight years and 88 days on the Billboard Hot 100.
