Cardi B smashed Taylor Swift’s Apple Music Record
On April 13, Cardi B’s debut album, Invasion of Privacy, registered more than 100 million streams on Apple Music. And became the most streamed album by a female artist in one week, surpassing the previous holder, Taylor Swift.
- By the middle of the week, Cardi B’s debut album had doubled the previous streaming apple record of Swift’s latest album ‘Reputation. But Reputation wasn’t available for streaming until three weeks after release.
On April 6, 2018, she released her first studio album entitled ‘Invasion of Privacy’ which, debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200.
The album contains four singles, “Bodak Yellow,” “Drip” featuring Migos, “Be Careful,” and “Bartier Cardi.”
With 135,000 streams units, Cardi B’s debut album gathered the most massive on-demand audio streaming week ever by a woman.
Cardi also became the fifth female rapper to top the albums chart.On April 21, she scored 13 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. By doing so, it surpassed Beyoncé for most simultaneous titles on the ranking by a solo female.
- “Bodak Yellow” was the first song released from her album, and it won Single of the Year 2017 at the BET Hip Hop Awards.
