Officially, Kelly Clarkson Will Host the 2018 Billboard Awards

Music Awards

Tuesday, after the revealing of this year’s nominees for the Billboard Music Awards, the organizers announced that the host of the 2018 BBMAs ceremony, is The Voice coach Kelly Clarkson.

Clarkson joked in an interview about hosting the award ceremony:
“To prepare for hosting the Billboard Music Awards, I already have 20 costume changes planned. I will be flying in like my girl Pink, and calling Amy Schumer and Sarah Silverman for jokes. Well, or I’m just gonna show up and celebrate my favorite artists and get to know a few more. Yeah, maybe I’ll go with that plan.”
  •  This year for the first time, NBC is airing the BMAs, and now it makes sense why Kelly Clarkson was chosen. She’s a coach on the reality television singing competition “The Voice,” broadcast by NBC.
The President of Alternative and Reality Group at NBC, Paul Telegdy stated.
“Kelly Clarkson has long been a Billboard chart phenomenon and has a firsthand understanding of what matters most in music today. Her enthusiasm for all genres of music and her innate sense of humor will make for a truly memorable night.”
  • On Sunday (May 20), will air live this year’s Billboard Music Awards from Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. The three-hour show produced by Dick Clark Productions commemorates 60 years of Billboard charts.

Listen to the single “I Don’t Think About You” from Kelly’s eight album ‘Meaning of Life’.
