Boyzone will split after final album and farewell tour

The Irish band Boyzone the have announced they are about to split after staging a farewell tour and releasing a “final” album.

The five boy group was formed in 1993 and had many UK number one hits as “No Matter What” or “All That I Need.”

“We all feel that we should now call time on our lives together as Boyzone and go out on a real high,” said the group .

According to their latest and official announcement, the boyband is planning to release a 12 song-collection titled “Thank You & Goodnight” in November 2018, as their seventh and final album.

The album will feature songs written by Sheeran and Gary Barlow. Being preceded by the first single, “I Can Dream,” which, it’s a tribute to Stephen Gately featuring his vocals.

 “We came across a demo that he originally recorded for his solo album in 2002 . and we’ve had the opportunity to re-work the song and add our harmonies alongside his lead vocal…It was a bittersweet experience to hear all our voices together again. It’s the closest the five of us will ever get to being in a room together again making music.” said the band.

Stephen Gately was one of the five members of the band who died back in 2009 at his home in Port d’Andratx, Majorca.

The tickets of Boyzone’s farwell tour are going on sale on Friday 22 June:
