News

The big winner of FIFA’s World Cup poll is the K-pop boyband Exo with the single “Power,” which will be played in Moscow at the Luzhniki Stadium.

On four July, FIFA posted on their official Twitter account a poll, to determine which song will be played at the World Cup Final on June 15. And Exo is the world cup, biggest winner!

EXO boys narrowly beat out BTS‘ “Fake Love,” while both K-pop bands fully overshadowed the other two nominees (Zedd’s “The Middle” and J Balvin’s “Mi Gente”) with more than 1.5 million votes EACH!

The Olympic Channel interfered during the poll to remember the audience that EXO knows “how to rock a stadium,” referring to their performance during the 2018 Winter Olympics closing ceremony in South Korea. Congratulations to both bands!

At the end of the poll, when the final results were revealed, FIFA’s social media manager Alex Stone tweeted:

“Think we owe fans of both BTS & EXO a big thank you.”
